Medical Error is the THIRD Leading cause of death in America.

Approximately 250,000 people diE every Year and 800,000 are permanently injured.

This makes medical harm 6X more deadly than automobile accidents.

Out from the shadows into the light...

Mistakes are going to happen in healthcare.

Healthcare is human.  In that humanity, we must preserve honesty and accountability.  Medical mistakes are often compounded by factors that we have the power to change— patients and practitioners alike.  As patient harm and  malpractice victims ourselves, we know your struggles and we understand how you may not feel heard.

MyMDStory.com is the place where your story matters.

Let's talk about your experiences in surviving medical harm.

Let's talk about healthcare reform.

Let's turn your pain into power.  #MDTalks

We are a fledgling advocacy group with big goals.  Our main mission?  To Heal American Healthcare, one story at a time and to support the victims of medical malpractice.  We want to restore names and faces to the growing statistics from medical error injury and preventable death.
We also celebrate and promote physicians & practitioners who stand up for the renewal of standards & ethics in medicine nationwide.

We aim to educate so you can self-advocate.

Did you know?  The U.S. has a higher rate of preventable deaths due to medical error compared to other high-income countries.

A 2018 study found that the U.S. ranked LAST among 11 high-income countries in healthcare outcomes, including preventable deaths.  The Med Talks Movement seeks to highlight these disparities in order to advocate for systemic changes.  We want  to make healthcare safer for patients, and more prosperous for doctors.

The Med Talks Movement seeks to empower patients, amplify their voices, and hold healthcare providers and institutions accountable for preventable harm, discrimination, and negligence; thereby supporting the standards and ethics of medical venues and systems.  This will ultimately change the "healthcare employment crisis" that many states like Georgia are facing.  Tort reform initiatives are not the answer to bring more doctors to states that struggle with growing malpractice occurrence rates.  The answer is to reduce Malpractice occurrence.  The answer is found in breaking the silence.

Our Goals

What's Happening Now

Our Mission

1. Expose Systemic Failures: Highlight the prevalence of medical errors, misdiagnoses, and preventable harm, which make healthcare the third leading cause of death in the United States.

1. Expose Systemic Failures: Highlight the prevalence of medical errors, misdiagnoses, and preventable harm, which make healthcare the third leading cause of death in the United States.

2. Amplify Patient Voices: Provide a platform for patients to share their stories of medical harm, gaslighting, and dismissal by healthcare providers.  This will be how our movement is unique.  We will focus on the true stories and experiences of victims and survivors so that not only can healing can be fostered, but to build a growing chorus of voices.  There is power in numbers.  The numbers of people are well documented, but they have not had many spaces to share their stories without censure or fear.

3. Support Survivors: Provide access, information and financial support toward legal aid for their navigation of official documentation and requests for board reviews.

4. Advocate for Change: Push for systemic reforms to improve patient safety, transparency, and accountability in healthcare.

5. Combat Discrimination: Address biases in healthcare, including age, weight and pre-existing condition-based discrimination.

The Med Talks Movement is a response to a healthcare system that often prioritizes profit over human dignity and fails to address systemic flaws that have resulted from decades of entitlement.  This entitlement has been emboldened by the forced silence of patients. By shining a light on these issues, the movement seeks to:
- Reduce preventable harm and deaths.
- Ensure equitable treatment for all patients, regardless of their background or identity.
- Create a culture of accountability and transparency in healthcare, allowing physicians and healthcare practitioners to thrive ethically and professionally.
